Here’s a blunt, unsharpened Dutch klewang cutlass trainer used to train sailors in the handling & use of the m1898 Klewang Cutlass. This one is probably from between 1900-1920. Unmarked blade with a gold-painted pommel. The grip is black painted wood. Many of these were imported to the US during WW1 to be used as trainers for the M1917 Cutlass, which was an almost exact copy of the Dutch M1898. Interestingly enough this has a leather washer which is unusual because I don’t believe there originally were scabbards for these. The basket guard on this thing is huge, so the shipping is going to be pretty steep with this one.
